For Catholics, churches play an important part in their lives, particularly in their religious services. For some people who believe in another religion, they may seem like just a wonderful piece of architecture that has been built over hundreds of years ago. At first glance, churches may all look the same in terms of floor plans and just differ in designs and materials used in building it; they all have an aisle which leads to the cross at the center of the altar area.
They also have towers and domes that direct towards the sky, as a representation of Jesus Christ’s looking at us from above.For devout Catholics, however, churches are not all the same.
